It was not an easy week. The penultimate week of the main season was characterized by low temperatures and fresh snow. The sun didn't really come out, except for the last hour on Friday, when the whole of Bakhmaro briefly came out of the clouds.

Thursday was the best powder day ever for many freeriders, with knee-deep champagne powder. On Friday, the snow in Bakhmaro had already settled a little. We classified the avalanche risk as significant on Friday. Safety first was the motto.

From Friday onwards, however, we were also in (tourist) crisis mode, as the cold temperatures are causing traffic problems even in the lowlands, Istanbul airport was closed and our telephone providers were down.

Freeride & Tour

Again, the winter before PIONEERS was rather unremarkable, but there was snow on the mountains and in the forests. At the beginning of the week I was in project X and we were able to ski great lines with relatively little fresh snow. On the south side, the fresh snow was a bit thin.

Then the snow started falling in the middle of the week. Beechclub was unrideable on Friday - too much fresh snow! Phaphara, Buksieti and Chedrekili were better and a powder festival.

The extremely fluffy powder on Thursday will remain unforgettable. You don't experience that every day.

Tips & Infos

Best booking period

The first inquiries for 2026 came last summer. Now, at the end of the season, we are already receiving many concrete booking requests for the next season. First, however, all repeaters have the opportunity to reserve their preferred dates and many have already made use of this.

For the main season - end of January to end of February - we recommend booking early - that means April to May. Individual dates are quickly booked up, especially for the Riders Lodge in Bakhmaro and project X in Adjara.


During the season we send out a link to this snow report every week to inform you as a freerider about the snow conditions and the course of the season, to give tips for your tour and to introduce the team. Of course we also want to increase the anticipation. If you no longer wish to receive the link, you can unsubscribe from the snow report at any time. With the end of the season we also stop the weekly snow report.
