A week with rather warm temperatures is behind us.
After the heavy snowstorm last week, Bakhmaro was without electricity and telephone connection for several days. The second storm brought another meter of fresh snow. In the last two days it was
much warmer and the snow cover has settled significantly. At the height of Bakhmaro the snow has become heavy. Of course this helps to stabilize the entire snow cover.
Last week we held a tail guide training in Bakhmaro. The program included the tasks of the tail guide in general, ideas for clear communication and, above all, practical training in the area
ofrescue and first aid, transceiver training, correct probing and effective shoveling, the rescue and transport of injured people. It was two intensive days of preparation.
For the hours on skis we laid out the cat track on Phaphara and made our first turns there. Above the tree line the influence of the wind was clearly felt, in the forest the snow was nice and
fluffy...
In Georgia, meals are served in bowls and on plates so that everyone can take what they like. This way, we also cater for various special diets (vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose). A vegan diet is
only possible to a limited extent. We want to cook Georgian food and are very proud of Georgian cuisine.
The local cuisine is hearty. A lot of white flour, cheese and walnuts are used in cooking. Meat and fish dishes are just as important as the traditional khachapuri.
Please discuss any allergies with the house manager.
During the season we send out a link to this snow report every week to inform you as a freerider about the snow conditions and the course of the season, to give tips for your tour and to introduce the team. Of course we also want to increase the anticipation. If you no longer wish to receive the link, you can unsubscribe from the snow report at any time. With the end of the season we also stop the weekly snow report.
